EMEPCO, based in Fujairah-UAE, was established in 1996 to provide environmental protection services to the shipping and maritime industries. It was established with a long-term agreement with the Government of Fujairah and is one of the prime companies providing slop reception facility in the Port of Fujairah, Khorfakkan and various other ports in UAE.

Strategically located at one of the major oil tankers destinations in the world, EMEPCO offers the shipping industry an opportunity to deliver slops generated from tank washings of crude and product tankers as well as machinery space operations of all ships to its 24 hours reception facilities, thus enabling the vessels to comply with the stringent oily water discharge restrictions in the Gulfs Area which is listed as a Special Area in Marpol 73/78, as amended.

Together with our Barges and floating Slop Reception, Storage and Processing Facility, EMEPCO provides a one stop service; from collection, storage, treatment to disposal of your oily waste. Our experienced staff and vessels are at your service 24/7.

As a MEMAC(Marine Emergency Mutual Aid Centre) pre-qualified company for the Gulf Area, EMEPCO has high standard of in-house resources, experience and capabilities to operate in accordance with the requirements of Marpol 73/78 regarding offshore collection, transportation, treatments and disposal of oily waste with zero impact to the environment. Accordingly Company has been approved by MEMAC and local authorities for oily mixture/slop collection services under Marpol 73/78 in the Gulf Area.

Slop Collection Services

Collection and processing of Oily Waste water from cargo tanks of Oil Tankers and Oily Bilge water/ Oily residues from Engine room/ machinery spaces of all ships

Since the inception in 1996, EMEPCO has been involved in converting large oil tankers to floating Slop Reception-Storage-Processing Facility.The Company operates a fleet of slop barges which assists in the floating Slop Reception,Storage and Processing Facility. The collected slops from the slop barges will be processed in this facility and the separated clean water will be discharged in compliance with the local Port Authorities’ regulations.

Desloping Operations - Recovery and salvage of contaminated/ spilled oil from vessels in distress

EMEPCO offers the full range of services that enable our clients to fulfill their international and national obligations as well as operational needs of collection, transportation and disposal of oily liquid slop waste.All transportation and disposal of oily slops is complying with MARPOL 73/78.

EMEPCO adheres to the standard requirements of local government agencies with high importance to health, safety, environment consciousness and quality standard. All operation and disposal are being documented and certificates will be provided accordingly to certify all slop/sludge received are properly disposed at our Offshore Slop reception and processing facility.

Lightering and salvage of Bunker Fuel/Cargo Oil from disabled vessels

EMEPCO fleet is fully equipped to provide de-bunkering and oil cargo salvaging from disabled vessels in the Gulf Area. We can provide the handling/ storage/ processing of the salvaged oil/ bunker as per the client’s requirements.

Fleet List - ( Slop Barges & SRPF)

EMEPCO operates a fleet of IACS classed double hulled oil/ tankers as slop barges, ranging in deadweights from 1000 MT to 5000 MT which are being periodically inspected, vetted and approved by the Oil Majors. The Company keeps a proud record of safe operations and zero spills to sea through continuous monitoring of KPI’s set in line with the TMSA principles.

Our Slop Reception and Processing Facility is type approved and classed by DNVGL. She is a double hulled oil tanker of 46,000 deadweight, converted as SRPF in accordance with class and port state requirements.
